CASE STUDY
Steep Roof
THE CHALLENGE
Valero’s storage facility, an “A-Frame” structure with a 45-degree sloped roof, needed a new roof and secondary framing. Our first challenge was how to access the roof to remove the existing metal roof.
The SCOPE
40,000 SF
of fiberglass roof panels
8,000 LF
of corrosive resistant fiberglass purlins
The outcome
We engineered and fabricated a custom platform to access the structure and haul away the old roof. In order to safely work on the steep sloped roof with high wind conditions, we developed a rolling work basket that allowed our crew to work on a level surface while installing the new roof.
